Press Release
Introducing Sonic Signatures
By John Murinye
Harare, Zimbabwe – April 12, 2025
Zarura Creative is excited to announce the introduction of Sonic Signatures, also known as Audio Branding, to its suite of specialized brand identity services. This marks not so much a shift, but a deepening — adding more dimension to how Zarura helps brands come to life through Sonic Signatures.
For John Murinye, Principal Brand Consultant and founder of Zarura, this is less a new direction and more a return.
“Before I ever opened a design tool, I was in the studio,” says Murinye, who studied Jazz Music Theory & Technology at Newpark Academy of Music in Ireland, and later trained in Recording & Engineering at Pulse College. “Music has always shaped how I think about rhythm, tone, structure — and ultimately, identity. Now, it’s time to bring that side of me more fully into what we offer at Zarura through Sonic Signatures.
Through Sonic Signatures, Zarura will now create custom audio expressions of a brand — from sound logos and jingles to full sonic systems that match a brand’s tone and values. The idea is to help brands sound as distinct as they look.
“This isn’t just about having a catchy tune,” Murinye adds. “It’s about building emotional resonance. Just like colour, typography, or messaging, sound plays a powerful role in memory and meaning. We want to help brands show up with intention — across every sense, through the power of Sonic Signatures.”
With this move, Zarura continues to refine and expand its commitment to building multi-sensory brand identities that are modern, rooted, and resonant — both on the continent and beyond.
